Ancient Americas Installation
In partnership with Nogginaut, Studio Cypher created a six game installation in the newly opened Ancient Americas exhibit of Chicago's prestigious Museum of Natural History. While hunting and gathering, visitors explore how small innovations impact culture.
The Cyphers
Over a period of 9 months, Studio Cypher introduced players to the world of the Cyphers in a series of web-based Multi-Player Novels (MPNs). While playing, customers did everything from stopping a rogue golem to winning a Boat Poker tournament in the service of true love.
Ludium Conferences
Tired of boring, isolating academic conferences, Studio Cypher partnered with Indiana University's Ted Castronova to create game conferences that are also games. Called 'ludiums', these conferences bring together researchers, industry members, and the press in a weekend of idea-sharing and competition. The most recent Ludium focused on video games and public policy and resulted in a series of statements with broad support in the industry and academia.
IDEAS Fest
To promote IDEAS Fest, a new media festival celebrating Midwestern creators and artists, we created a story spanning a hundred years, multiple websites, and culminated in a final confrontation at the IDEAS Fest itself.
